SDA Membership Is Evolving!

As of October 2025, after a thorough review of our previous membership model, we’ve decided to move to a lifetime membership with no renewal and no dues.

This decision came after months of evaluation and planning with staff, board members, and member leaders, as well as feedback from our community. We learned from other organizations and reflected on what’s best for SDA at this point in time.

So, whether you’re new or you’ve been part of SDA since the beginning, fill out our new membership form today:

Why the change?

Our new lifetime, no-dues membership is designed to make joining SDA as inclusive and welcoming as possible — so anyone who supports our vision can be part of building our collective power.

Previously, being asked for dues alienated and discouraged some people from getting involved, and some of the people contributing the most time and energy to SDA weren’t even officially members.

What membership means

Being a member of SDA means that you support our ongoing work to build a world where we as seniors and disabled people can live and thrive independently and on our own terms. By signing up as a member, you are helping build our people power to win campaigns.

Being a member also tells us that you want to hear from us and participate in our work in some way, whether that’s by coming to meetings, phonebanking or taking part in other virtual actions, going to rallies at City Hall, or the many other ways that members engage in our work! We welcome you to take part in our work however and whenever you are able.
